The Wife Swap season 2 campaign was also chosen to launch promo graphics from an expanded “v1.5” brand refresh for Paramount Network... which we did WHILE the refresh was being designed. I love projects like this, implementing new brand design elements and solving all the inherent problems ‘on the ground’ so to speak. Lots of teamwork and discovery, it’s great excercise. I can’t believe more people didn’t watch this show. It is/was flat out hilarious. We shot the cast on location for the season 3 key art, as well as promo graphics for season 2b, and gallery photography. We also had the opportunity to create an animated sequence that was a ‘farewell’ to the Teachers intended for the final episode of the final season. The development teams &amp; cast liked our idea so much that we were able to get extra budget to blow out the animation, and extend the sequence from the original scripted duration. I wrote and designed the sequence &amp; storyboards and worked with the agency that delivered the final animation to the production company &amp; development team. &nbsp;&nbsp; Credits: VP Brand The visual exploration for this was super fun, including some directions that I loved using old VHS tape/technology visuals. This was a fun project, we were able to commission some amazing original traditional tattoo designs from an tattoo artist in San Antonio who created the profiles of battling creatures that were featured in the key art and in the promo graphics. director assigned to the first properties to utilize the new looks, new rules, etc. When Spike TV became just Spike, and updated the brand to move away from the “get more action” dude-friendly niche, I was doing Lip Sync Battle and Movies on Spike... double whammy! We worked with multiple agencies on the different facets of the rebrand, a complex process, really demanding and really rewarding. We saw a million logos, lots of really good ones, and when we saw the first pass of what would become the final, new “SPIKE” logo, almost everyone was like “bingo” job done. There were a number of challenges involved, including creating a look that would allow us to re-tag something like 150 spots without necessitating new edits, and a look that would allow editors to create 5-second spots using iconic scenes with persistent tag information that was prominent, but didn’t obscure the key visuals in the scene being used. I LOVE those kinds of limitations/hurdles to work through. We created about 180 spots over the course of a month once the design/animation were approved.
